Our journey begins at the magnificent Arunachaleswarar Temple, one of the largest and most sacred Shiva temples in India.
Spread across more than 25 acres, this ancient temple has stood for centuries as the spiritual center of Tiruvannamalai.
This peaceful ashram was established around the teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi, one of the most respected spiritual masters of modern India. Visitors from every continent come here to experience the silence, simplicity, and wisdom associated with his teachings. Here, I share the life story of Ramana Maharshi and explain why his teachings continue to inspire people worldwide. Many guests describe the atmosphere here as calm, peaceful, and deeply transformative.
From Ramanashramam, we begin a gentle walk up the sacred slopes of Arunachala Hill. Our destination is Skandashramam, where Ramana Maharshi lived for several years with his disciples. The path itself is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature and stunning views of Tiruvannamalai town.
Continuing along the hill path, we arrive at Virupaksha Cave. This cave served as Ramana Maharshi's home for many years and remains one of the most spiritually significant places on Arunachala Hill. The cave's unique shape naturally amplifies silence, creating a deeply peaceful atmosphere
Nestled at the foothills of Arunachala, Pachaiyamman Temple holds a special place in local tradition. According to local beliefs, Goddess Pachaiyamman protects the sacred mountain and blesses devotees who visit with sincerity.
